Financial Aid Forms

FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid - The FAFSA must be completed in order to apply for the Pell Grant, Federal Work-Study, Stafford Loans, PLUS Loans, and GSC Foundation Scholarships.  The FAFSA can also be completed to apply for HOPE.  However, students ONLY wanting to apply for HOPE can complete GSFAPPS below.  The FAFSA must be completed once every academic year.  The academic year consists of Fall, Spring, and Summer, in that order.  It is highly recommended that students complete the FAFSA as soon as tax returns have been completed.

The Five-Minute FAFSA Video - This five minute video created by FastWeb is a quick and entertaining introduction to completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

School Code - The Federal Title IV Code that you'll need to add Gainesville State College to your FAFSA is 001567

Deadlines - See our Priority Deadlines on the left side of this page.

FAFSA on the Web Worksheet - The FAFSA on the Web Worksheet allows you to read and complete the questions before entering your information online. The questions are listed in the same order as they appear on the website.

FAFSA PIN - The Personal Identification Number (PIN) serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your information.

GSFAPPS - Hope Scholarship/Grant Application - GSFAPPS is required for those who ONLY want to apply for HOPE.  This form is completed only once - not yearly like the FAFSA.  If the FAFSA is completed, GSFAPPS is not needed.  However, it is fine to complete both.  (If you decide not to complete the FAFSA in the future, you must complete the GSFAPPS.)

Apply - The first step to complete the GSFAPPS application is for the student to create a GACollege411 account.  It is highly recommended that you click here for printable instructions on setting up your account, creating your "profile", and completing the GSFAPPS application.

Check your eligibility - If you are a student who graduated from high school after May 1, 2007, and you would like to check your HOPE eligibility status, click here for instructions.  For more information on your high school's reporting status, click here.  Both of these links are accessible from www.gacollege411.org under "Latest News and Announcements".  Click here for information on eligibility requirements for the HOPE Scholarship.
