Summer Financial Aid:

• Summer Check Availability for Early Registration – Students who register by April 1^st and see a refund on their Banner Web account will have a check available on Tuesday, May 13^th.

• Summer Check Availability for all other students – Students must have their attendance in all courses verified prior to the release of any financial aid refund.  These refunds will be issued to students on or before July 15^th.

• Summer HOPE book checks will be available on July 15th for ALL students, regardless of when you register.

• Summer Loan Recipients - Students who have loans guaranteed for Summer do NOT owe fees by April 24th.  The College will deduct your tuition/fees from your loan funds when they arrive in May. You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during the Summer in order to receive your student loan.

• Summer and Fall tuition/fee deadlines

Where to pick up your financial aid check - Checks are picked up with a photo ID in the Business Affairs Office on the Gainesville Campus and in the Front Office on the Oconee Campus.  Students who have at least one class in Oconee will pick up checks at the Oconee Campus. 

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - Complete the FAFSA only once a year.  The 2007-2008 FAFSA application covers Fall 07/Spring 08/Summer 08.  The 2008-2009 FAFSA covers Fall 08/Spring 09/Summer 09.

HOPE Authorization -  Gainesville State College needs authorization from you to deduct any additional fees from your HOPE book allowance.  In Banner Web, select the "Financial Aid" menu, select "Student Authorization", then select "Authorize" and "Submit" on the HOPE Book Authorization.
