offers an Associate (A.A.) in Studio Art (approx. 60 hours). The curriculum features 19 art studio, appreciation, education and history courses.There are approximately 200 active art majors and 4 Full-time and 14 Part-time faculty at both the Gainesville and Oconee campuses.

An Associate in Arts degree can be applied to careers such as graphic design, interactive media, photography, studio artist, production ceramics, art education, gallery and museum curation, illustration, art history, art conservation, product design, interior design, and others. 

Extra-curricular opportunities include: merit scholarships, guest speakers, a very active Art Club which provides a strong environment including social events and field trips to New York City, Chicago, and other regional art centers. The art program also includes two exhibition spaces: The Roy C. Moore Gallery of Art and the Dunlap/Mathis building.       

Initially, students take foundation courses: 2-D design, 3-D design, Drawing I, and one Art History. Additional courses include: Drawing II, Beginning Painting, Intermediate Painting, Ceramics I, Ceramics II, Hand Building (ceramics), Wheelthrowing (ceramics), Sculpture I, Sculpture II, Computer Graphics I, Computer Graphics II, Digital Photography, Printmaking, and Color Theory.
