Free ESRI Online Training

     Students currently enrolled in GIS classes at Gainesville State College may request access codes for online training at the ESRI Virtual Campus.  These courses usually range in cost from $25 - $175, but you can get all of the courses listed below for free!  This is a great way to learn the software and get ahead; take advantage of it!  This service is for current students only.

1.  Create a Global Account at http://campus.esri.com/ .  Click on "Login" near the top and then choose "Create New Account".

2.  Request an access code: Send an e-mail from your GSC account to Dwight Lanier with the name of the course from the list at the bottom of this page in the Subject line or the Body of the e-mail.

3.  After receiving the access code, login to your ESRI Virtual Campus account and under My Campus, click on Courses > "Have a new course access code?" to register your class.

   Students may request one code at a time!  After successfully completing the course, e-mail the completion certificate to Dwight Lanier from your GSC e-mail account, or print it and bring it by Rm211 in the Science building.  If you are e-mailing your course completion certificate, please save it to your desktop (as a PDF, JPEG, TIFF, or other image), and then attach it to your e-mail.  Do not send a link to the certificate because I will not be able to access it inside your account.  Course completion certificates can be found in your ESRI Virtual Campus account under "My Training > My Course Certificates".  Once you send in your proof of completion you may then request another course.

**Students are advised to start with "Understanding Map Projections and Coordinate Systems".  This topic is one of the most fundamental issues of Geographic Information Systems and Science.  A good foundation in this area is a must.**
