The Gainesville State College Spatial Analysis Laboratory

    The mission of the Gainesville State College Spatial Analysis Laboratory is to provide cutting-edge education through the application of technology to current geographic issues in the North Georgia region.  In pursuing its mission, GCSAL is designed to:

• provide students with hands-on experience through direct involvement with service and research projects.
• provide students with access to leading industry GIS software and other spatial technologies.
• provide employment opportunities and placement services for students
• provide members of the community with environmental and spatial information relevant to the Lake Lanier watershed and the North Georgia area
• help agencies control costs and save tax dollars by assisting with GIS start-up and providing student-based data collection
• promote geographic education through the development of curricula for use in public schools, colleges, & universities.
• provide training opportunities for government employees, public school teachers, and college/university faculty and staff.
