NGSCU's Bachelor of Science in Art Education
3 + 1 Option on GSC Campus
Students who
wish to earn a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from North Georgia College and State University may elect to complete
their Junior year of coursework on the Gainesville State College
campus in Oakwood and then transfer to Dahlonega for their senior
year.
NGCSU will offer
the 3000 courses for the major in Art Education on the GSC campus
through the University Center. Students must apply and be accepted
to NGCSU in order to enroll in these 3000 level courses.
The curriculum
in the Junior year* includes some courses at the 2000 level which
students may either register for as a transient student (a NGCSU
transient student taking GSC courses) or complete before beginning
their junior year.
* Please see Program of Study

Financial Aid
In planning
their program of study, students should be aware that taking a
combination of 2000 level GSC courses and 3000 level NGCSU courses
in the same semester may have implications for their financial aid
package. Although the HOPE scholarship applies to both NGCSU courses
and courses taken as a transient at GSC, federal Pell grant money
may only be used for the 3000 level NGCSU courses, not for any
courses taken as a transient. Any remaining Pell eligibility could
be used in the summer between the Junior and Senior year.
Interested
students should contact GSC Art Department Head
Stacy Koffman.
