Tricia Bunker welcomed the group of ladies. She
extended a special thank you to Leora Myers for being the Chair for the
Christmas luncheon and auction, to Deb Lilly who did a wonderful job as
our auctioneer and to Nicole Krochak, Teresa Leckie and Carol Wallace
for helping to collect the proceeds from the auction. We were told that
this was the third year that Leora had chaired the Christmas
luncheon/auction. Again, many thanks to Leora for her work!
Linnea Haag reported that the GSCWO now had a
membership of 68 with 59 women from this campus and nine women
from the Oconee campus. She advised the members that the minutes for
the October meeting had been sent via email for corrections and that the
November minutes would soon follow.
Nicole Krochak reported that this past Christmas
luncheon/auction had netted $2833.44. We actually took in $2964.40 less
expenses of $130.96. This was the most money ever received at our
auction! The balance in our checkbook is $4292.83 to date.
The Planning and Program Committee is chaired by
Rynda Ellis. She reported that a Valentine’s Day potluck would be held
next month in the President’s Conference Room at noon. Also, an off
campus trip is being planned for our March meeting. Further information
will be forth coming.
Stephanie Austin and Leora Myers presented Joan
Prittie and Erin with checks from our Christmas auction proceeds.
Project Safe received a check for $200 and Gateway House received a
check for $1200. Each lady expressed thanks on behalf of their
organization.
The amounts given to each of the shelters is in
direct correlation to the membership from each campus.
Rynda Ellis introduced Dr. Mary Lou Frank who
presented our program “Learn to Sell on eBay”. This presentation was
enthusiastically received with many questions answered regarding buying
and selling items online. A helpful tips sheet was distributed among
the audience. The door prize was awarded to Tricia Bunker. Our next
meeting will be February 14th at noon in the President’s
Conference room.
Respectfully submitted,
Linnea Haag, Secretary |
