CTLL Mission & Goals

The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Leadership, established in 1996, promotes institutional effectiveness through professional development for faculty and staff. The Center’s primary purpose is to deepen student learning through engaged pedagogies. We encourage academic excellence by fostering innovation, supporting the scholarship of teaching and learning, encouraging an international perspective, offering training in instructional technologies, and promoting an enriched educational environment through such opportunities as service learning and undergraduate research. CTLL seeks to support all faculty and staff in developing their individual potential and sponsors a variety of programs to meet our objectives.

Statement of Confidentiality

The Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership never evaluates teachers and never shares information about individual teachers with those who do evaluate. It vigorously protects the confidentiality of all consultations with faculty and staff members. The Center does not release the names of anyone who seeks personal consultation nor information about a consultation or even about the existence of a consultation. Information collected through consultation is only shared with the individual being consulted.
In addition to confidential consultations, the Center offers technological instruction, acts as a clearinghouse for information about grants, research and innovations in higher education and conducts workshops. The Center will provide additional services upon request.
