quality improvement project

How time flies!  We are now into our eighth month of the 2007/2008 Quality Improvement Grant Project.  All of the Quality Improvement participants have been busy working toward their goals on their Plans of Action.  We have several participants whose goals include applying for the Homes of Quality Program, so they have been concentrating on completing the indicators on the  FCCERS  (Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale).  I hope to start sending in applications soon.

Over the past few months, several early childhood conferences have been held and most of the Quality Improvement participants have been able to attend by using grant funds to pay for their registration.  The trainings that have been offered at these conferences have been excellent, according to the providers.  Also, the hours that the participants have earned by attending these trainings are securing them points toward qualifying for our upcoming training/retreat to be held in May.  This training/retreat is an event that everyone looks forward to and is a special treat for those who work hard and earn the right to attend.

As you can see, the Quality Improvement Grant Project not only provides for participants to be able to buy toys and materials for their program, to benefit from technical assistance, and to attend conferences and trainings paid for with grant funds, but also encourages fellowship with other providers through events such as the training/retreat.  If you did not apply for the 2007/2008 Quality Improvement Project, and would like to have an opportunity to receive benefits such as these, please contact me to be added to our mailing list for information on the 2008-2009 Quality Improvement Grant Project.  You may contact me at:
