Alternative Media/Assistive Technology

Alternative Media is currently provided by AMAC (Alternative Media Access Center).  The alternative media formats for textbooks are CDs from the Recording for the Blind and Dyslexic, electronic text files and Braille. Alternative media orders are placed with the Disability Services Specialist after supporting documentation of a disability is reviewed and approved by the Student Disability Services Assistant Director.

The available Assistive Technology includes a variety of software and equipment.  Free training on the software, as well as information on free software that can be accessed by students from home, is provided by the Disability Services Specialist upon registration with the Student Disability Services Office. All assistive technology equipment is loaned out after approval of the supporting documentation of a disability which has been provided to the Student Disability Services Assistant Director.
