Admissions Requirements

Freshmen
Students with no prior college work who have earned a high school diploma from an accredited school or who have passed the GED.
Transfers
Applicants who have attended other colleges.
Transients
Students who are currently attending another college or university and wish to attend GSC for one semester and then return to their home institution. Transient students must re-apply each semester.
Non-traditional freshmen
Individuals whose class has graduated from an accredited high school at least 5 years prior to application and have earned a high school diploma or GED.
Accel Program for high school students
High school juniors and seniors enrolled in accredited Georgia public or private high schools who wish to enter college and earn college credit while they complete their junior and/or senior year of high school.
Auditors
Persons who wish to attend regular college classes without credit may apply for admission as auditors.
Special Students
Students who have earned an academic associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college (not an associate in applied science) and who wish to take courses at GSC without pursuing a GSC degree.
International students
Students who enter the United States with an F-1 student visa and are in the country solely for educational purposes.
Former students
Students previously enrolled at Gainesville State College.
Home schooled students/non-accredited high schools
Applicants from home schools or graduates of non-accredited high schools.
Amendment 23
Persons 62 years of age or older. Normal admissions criteria apply.
