Early Alert Program
What is
Early Alert?
Early Alert is a program for
first-year students at Gainesville
State College who
may be demonstrating behaviors
that show they may be at risk of
academic difficulty or failure. Through Early
Alert, students can learn about
available campus resources and
strategies which may improve
academic success.
Additionally, identified
students will also have a chance
to work more closely with their
professors in hopes of improving
their academic performance.
How
does the program work?
Students identified by faculty
members for the Early Alert
Program are sent an email
indicating the faculty member
making the referral, the course,
and the indicated problem area(s)
(attendance, homework,
quizzes/tests, and/or
participation). The email
directs the student to this web
page for further assistance.
Is
Early Alert noted anywhere on
academic records?
No. This
information is used only to
identify students who may
benefit from additional support
and will not become part
of the academic transcript.
