for Summer and Fall 2008
New First-time Freshmen
New Freshmen
(those who have NEVER attended college)
who have applied and been accepted by the
Admissions Office will receive information in the mail
about SOAR (Student Orientation, Advisement, and
Registration). New Freshmen are required to attend
SOAR in order
to be advised and register for classes. Transfer Students
are encouraged to attend SOAR, but are not required to do so.

Summer and Fall 2008 Academic Advisement
and Registration
You may register for
July only courses on July 2-7, 2008. Banner Web will be available at
8:00am on July 2 and will close at 11:59pm on July 7.
Academic Advisors in the
Advising Center (Student Life Building) will be
available to assist those who need it on July 2-3 and July 7 from
8:00am-5:00pm.
When is Fall 2008 Advisement? New
students who have been accepted to GSC may seek
advisement on July 23 from 8:00am-6:00pm and on August
14 from 8:00am-5:00pm. Academic Advisors will be
available in the Advising Center. Faculty advisors will
be available in their faculty offices on July 23 from
2:00pm-6:00pm.
Am I required to meet with an advisor? Learning
Support students or students who are on Academic
Probation, Continued Probation, or are returning from
Academic Suspension must meet with an academic advisor
to be eligible to register for courses. Students
on Probation or returning from Academic Suspension
should see an advisor in the Advising Center in the
Student Life Building.
Learning Support students
should seek advisement and registration assistance in
the Academic III Bldg., Room 158 from 2:00pm-6:00pm on
July 23 and in the ACTT Center in the Academic III Building from 8:00am - 5:00pm on
August 14.
Who is my advisor? Each Academic
Division will have advisors available in their offices.
The Academic Advising Center will offer academic
advising from 2:00pm - 6:00pm on July 23 and from
8:00am-5:00pm on August 14.

Registration
Course
Drop/Add and Withdrawal Deadlines for All Sessions
You may register for
July only courses on July 2-7, 2008. Banner Web will be available at
8:00am on July 2 and will close at 11:59pm on July 7.

Check for
registration restrictions in Banner Web that may
block your registration eligibility or require you to see an
advisor to register. Login to Banner web, select "Student
and Financial Aid Menu," then "Check for Registration Time and Holds."
When is Registration? Students may register
for fall classes on July 23 and August 14.
Students who can self-register
may register for fall classes
from 8:00am - 11:59pm on July 23 and August 14 via Banner Web.
Academic Advisors will be available in the Advising
Center and in faculty offices on July 23 and August 14 to assist
students with advisement and registration.
Are you not eligible to self-register? Students with
registration restrictions MUST meet with an academic
advisor before registering for courses.

Students should submit their scheduling worksheet
signed by an advisor to the Registrar's Office (Student Life Building, room
224) for processing between 8:00am - 5:00pm on July 23 and August
14.
Financial Aid
Information

The Summer 2008 priority deadline is April 1,
and the Fall 2008 priority deadline is June 1.
There is an 8-12 week processing time for financial aid
applications and all other required documentation, so apply
early!

Late Applicants:
Students who apply after the priority deadline and whose
financial aid is not processed by the time fees are due must be
prepared to pay tuition/fees. Students who are eligible for aid
will be reimbursed at a later date.

account to determine if your financial aid has been processed.

Fee Payment Information

Invoices will now
be emailed to your GSC email account.

Summer 2008 Tuition and Fees are due by 5:00pm on July 2,
2008, following July only registration.
