Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership (CTLL)/Art and Music Departments

SUMMARY: This administrative assistant will support all the programs of the Center for Teaching, Learning and Leadership, especially the Staff Excellence Program, the Art Department and the Music Department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Creating and maintaining web pages, department brochures and other publications

·         Primary contact person for Art and Music departments and for the Staff Excellence Program

·         Generate purchase and check requisitions; process purchasing reports; and verify receipt of orders and shipments

·         Maintain records, mailing lists, etc. for the three departments

·         Special Events planning and corresponding publicity both internal and to the community

·         Assist with curriculum development for Staff Excellence Program

·         Supervise student clerical aids

·         Facilitate training and workshops where appropriate

·         Generally support the functioning of the CTLL,  the Institute for Global Initiatives, Music Department and Art Department

·         Enter course schedules for Art and Music in  Banner system, collect and file  General Education Assessment data

 

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

·         Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills

·         Basic mathematics and statistical skills as well as the ability to use the internet

·         Computer software: MS Publisher, Excel Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe, Front Page, Access, Banner

·         Good problem solving skills and ability to follow procedures

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  Associate’s degree or three years of experience in an administrative coordinator or administrative assistant position required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

ANTICPATED HIRING RANGE:  Anticipated hiring hourly rate $10.82 – 13.51 depending upon experience and education.
