Peer Advisors

The Advising Center’s Peer Advisor program supplements faculty and professional Academic Advising at Gainesville State College.  It plays an important role in the Academic Advising program and is an additional source of support and guidance for the GSC student body.  The Advising Center’s Peer Advisors:

• Assist with SOAR

• Provide general academic information

• Promote Academic Advising 

• Generally seek to enhance the first year experience of GSC students

• Provide support to at-risk students  

The Advising Center’s Peer Advisors undergo intensive training in the semester before participation, and on-going training throughout the course of their tenure to enhance leadership skills and to learn GSC policies and procedures.

To nominate a student to be a Peer Advisor, complete the Nomination Form and return it to the Advising Center.
