MorrocoIn spring 2007, GSC hosted Professor Mohammed Amin Al-Midani as a Fulbright Visiting Professor in Social Sciences for one semester.  Dr. Al-Midani’s presence was made possible by a joint grant with Georgia Perimeter College.  A new collaborative effort with Brenau University, also sponsored by the Fulbright Commission, brings a delegation of school principals from Brazil to our campus and community the week of December 9-14th.  The purpose of the visit is for the administrators from Brazil to learn more about the American educational system, both public and private, at all levels.  Dr. Mary Lou Frank, Associate VPAA, and Dr. Maryellen Cosgrove, chair of the Division of Health, Education and Wellness,  are serving on the coordination team for this visit.

In the Institute, we continue to build on foundation laid by our administrative team’s visit to Hassan II University in Morocco in February 2007.  President Rahma Bourqia and Nabil Benchekroun, Vice President in charge of Co-operation, Partnership and International Affairs of Hassan II University will be visiting our campus and Kennesaw State University December 1-5th . While here, the Moroccan delegation will have meetings with representatives of GSC, GCSU, KSU, NGCSU and the USG Office of International Education concerning the proposed GA-Morocco consortium.  On December 2nd, Dr. Nesbitt will be hosting a dinner in honor of President Bourqia . Also joining us in honoring President Bourqia are the Chair of the Georgia Commission on Women, the President of the Georgia Women’s Institute, the leadership of the Georgia Association for Women in Higher Education, and the Gainesville State College Women’s Organization.
