WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A CASA VOLUNTEER? CASA volunteers serve as the eyes and ears of the court. They meet and talk with the child they are assigned to and with all the important people in that child's life. They make written recommendations to the Juvenile Court Judge about what is in the child's best interests. They keep the focus on the child until the case is closed. This is important as the child may have several case managers and/or foster homes but they will have only one CASA who is looking out for them and who provides stability, security and hope for them.
As a volunteer, you form a relationship with the child. This relationship is so important to helping that child learn to trust again.
You are their lifeline to getting a safe and permanent home as quickly as possible.
