The Math Lab is located in room 160/161 in J. Foster Watkins Academic Building, adjacent to the ACTT Center
In the Math Lab, students can get help with all levels of mathematics courses from developmental studies through calculus. Help is also available in statistics and in the mathematical content of physics and chemistry courses. In addition to tutoring, videotapes, alternative textbooks, computer programs, and practice worksheets are among the materials available.
There is a new Math Lab specifically for Math classes 0097 & 0099 located next door to the original Math Lab in room 158!
Hours of Operation
Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.- 10:00 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (1:00 p.m. in the summer)
Schedules for individual tutors vary and are posted next to the door of the Math Lab. Tutoring is available during the hours that the ACTT Center is open.
Appointments
Math tutoring is available on a drop-in basis only.
What Students Should Bring to a Tutoring Session:
- an already worked out problem
- textbook and notes
What Students Should NOT Expect from a Tutoring Session:
- to have one-on-one tutoring the whole time during the stay in the lab. Tutors will circulate around the lab and alternate between students.
- to have homework done by tutors. Students will do their own work following a tutor’s example.
- to have tutors teach material missed in class due to absences. Students should see their instructors during office hours.
