College Preparatory Curriculum (CPC)

CPC deficiencies indicate that a student did not complete the required 16 CPC credits designated by the University System of Georgia while in high school.  Math and English deficiencies can be fulfilled by satisfactory scores on the Compass Placement test.  Deficiencies can also be fulfilled by completing the following courses:

English & Math

ENGL 0099, MATH 0099

Science*

BIOL 1101, BIOL 1102, CHEM 1151, ESCI 1101, GEOG 1111, GEOL 1250, GSCI 1101 – all classes have corresponding labs

Social Science*

HIST 1111, HIST 1112, HIST 1121, HIST 1122, or ECON 1100

Foreign Language*

Any Foreign Language at the 1001 level

Note:  Spanish is the only foreign language offered at the Oconee Campus


*Students must earn a grade of “C” or better to fulfill a CPC deficiency.  CPC deficiencies must be completed by the time a student earns 20 credit hours.  Classes used to fulfill CPC deficiencies cannot be used to fulfill core curriculum requirements. 

GSCE 1101 – GSC Experience

Recommended for all new students and especially for students who begin UNG with Learning Support requirements.
