The Academic Advising Center serves as a central point of contact for students in addition to their assigned faculty advisors. Our goal is to facilitate educational planning and support academic progress by providing information about:
- Academic policies
- The Core Curriculum
- Programs of Study
- Campus resources
- Transfer options
Professional advisors on both the Gainesville and Oconee Campuses also work with at-risk students on academic interventions designed to enhance student success.
Academic Advising Syllabus
The Academic Advising Syllabus outlines the responsibilities of both advisor and student as as they work collaboratively to maximize the student's educational experience. The syllabus also includes important student learning outcomes to be achieved through the instructional process of academic advising.
Mission
The mission of academic advising is to provide meaningful educational plans based on each student’s interests and abilities and consistent with the student’s academic, professional, and personal goals. Academic advising fosters the development of students who are self-directed, responsible decision-makers and encourages the successful completion of degree and transfer requirements.
