(Academic, Computing, Testing, and Tutoring)
The ACTT Center is a place where you can study and check out study materials. If you like to study in an environment that is not as quiet as the library, then the ACTT Center is for you. Inside the ACTT Center you will find study tables for you and your study groups. Also two study rooms are available for groups to use. Study room rules apply! While you prepare for class or that next test, you may drink sodas and eat snacks. However, meals are not allowed.
Study Materials
Have a student ID? If so, you may checkout a calculator, some of the current textbooks, resources, or study manuals from the ACTT Center front desk. Items you check out are due back by closing time that same day, and you will be charged a fine if you take an item home.
Computing
You can use any of the 106 computers to complete assignments and check e-mail. Campus e-mail is now the official communication medium for Gainesville State College, so when you need to check your e-mail, rows of computers are awaiting you in the ACTT Center and also the ACT 2
computer lab. The computers, along with color printers and scanners, are available for your use when completing assignments for your classes. Tables are also available for
laptop use located near electrical outlets.
FREE Tutoring
Free tutoring is available to you in accounting, chemistry, computer science, math, and physics. Tutoring in English, ESL, and composition is located in Writing Center in the new ACAD IV building on the 2nd floor. Please see the links below for specific areas.
In the event that you need to make up a test, your instructor may place a test for you to take in the ACTT Center. To take your test, you will need to go to the front desk and ask for your test under your instructor’s name and show a picture ID. The front desk attendant will give you directions for the test and will show you to the testing room. Make sure you turn off your cell phone! Active cell phones or any signs of cheating are grounds for having your test taken away.
