Oconee Gallery Presents Jerrell and Mendicino Exhibit
Gainesville, GA., October 10, 2012 – Gainesville State College’s Oconee Gallery presents an exhibit of artwork by Cindy Jerrell and Rosemary Mendicino on display in the Oconee Gallery during the month of October.

Cindy Jerrell, who studied photography at the University of Georgia, creates three-dimensional puppet boxes, where ethereal characters reside. With titles like Seer, and Guide, viewers are lead toward possibilities beyond the limits of this world.

Rosemary Mendicino’s shadow boxes and ceramic dolls combine hand-made pieces of figurative ceramics with found objects, like vintage spark plugs and electrical bits. Her cultivated aesthetic draws from Catholic imagery.

The exhibit will conclude on October 31 at noon with an artists’ reception.  For more information about this free exhibit, call 678-7171-3438, or e-mail gallery@gsc.edu.
