Information Security Primer
 for the End User

The goal of Information Security is to ensure the availability and integrity of data.

Information Security is the protection of critical and sensitive data against unauthorized access. It encompasses the measures taken by Gainesville State College and you, the end user, to protect information against any kind of threat.

The purpose of this primer is to introduce the College's end users to the Information Technology policies and their importance.  Policies by their very nature are living documents subject to change as the security needs and technologies change.  Therefore, all end users are encouraged to visit the policies regularly to ensure currency.  It is your responsibility!
